Smith Center match offers UNC volleyball rare opportunity in 3-1 win over Virginia Tech

It was UNC's volleyball team locked in for a match against Virginia Tech, looking to right its season before Late Night With Roy. UNC Volleyball Rolls To Sweep of Cavaliers

North Carolina completed its first ACC sweep of the season on Saturday evening, taking down the University of Virginia, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-16). The Tar Heels' gelled on the serve and pass game and cut down on unforced errors, leading to the most efficient offensive match of the season. UNC, N.C. State Volleyball Team Up For Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Drive

The UNC and N.C. State volleyball teams spent a week of preseason at the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan. They are now doing their part to support the people of the island nation with a hurricane relief drive during their Oct. 18 match at Carmichael Arena. Fans are encouraged to bring clothing, flashlights, first-aid kits, batteries, battery-powered radios, battery-powered fans and bug spray to the match. (Volley Mob)

UNC Volleyball To Kick Off Late Night With Roy

The weekend begins at the Dean E. Smith Center, home of the 2017 NCAA Champion Men's Basketball team, where a 5 p.m. volleyball match between UNC and Virginia Tech kicks off the annual Late Night with Roy preseason festivities. UNC volleyball propelled to win over Duke by loud home crowd

On Friday, UNC volleyball (6-7, 3-2 ACC) took on Duke (11-5, 3-2 ACC) in Carmichael Arena as the Tar Heels began a 5-game home stand. There was a raucous crowd that showed up to the gym as they filled the entire lower level, forcing latecomers to maneuver over the roped-off upper sections. Carolina Spotlight: Taylor Leath & Andre Smith

UNC student-athletes Taylor Leath and Andre Smith had the opportunity last summer to take their leadership skills off campus and join with others from across the ACC at the Summer ACC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings. UNC Volleyball Brings Home Second Straight ACC Win

Behind a team-high 13 kills from sophomore Sydnye Fields, the North Carolina volleyball team defeated host Clemson Friday evening 3-1 at Jervey Gym (Highlights). For the second time in as many matches, North Carolina headed into the locker room trailing two sets to none. For the second time, the Tar Heels emerged a changed squad, winning sets three and four to tie the match and force a deciding fifth set. UNC volleyball's Taylor Fricano thrives on change

In 2007, Taylor Fricano knew she’d be getting blocks on the court. She just didn’t know in what sport. “My seventh- and eighth-grade basketball coach from junior high told me to try out for the volleyball team,” she said. “I was like, ‘No, I’m bad.’” After getting cut from the volleyball team in seventh and eighth grade, she felt even more sure that her talents did not lie on the volleyball court.
