Professor Hurt, Suspect Arrested in Fire, Explosion at Davie Poplar Thursday

A fire ignited by an incendiary device at the base of the Davie poplar Thursday afternoon caused injuries to a UNC faculty member, and a suspect in custody could be charged with arson, a UNC Police spokesperson said. Joshua Daniel Edwards was arrested by campus police. As of Friday afternoon, Edwards had not been formally charged.
