Engen's no ordinary North Carolina rookie

Freshmen rarely get to start at powerhouse Division I programs. At North Carolina, the women's soccer team has been one of the most dominant teams in any sport since its inception in 1979. The Tar Heels have won 18 national championships, including nine straight from 1986-94. All of that makes the fact that former Peninsula High standout Whitney Engen has earned a starting job in her first season that much more remarkable.
