La Residence to reopen in January after kitchen fire

Final preparations are underway for La Residence to reopen for the new year. La Residence has been a Chapel Hill landmark since 1976, but the restaurant had to temporarily close in June after sustaining smoke and fire damage when an air conditioning unit in the kitchen short-circuited and caught fire.
