Presented the option, ACC likely to retain status quo on football schedule

The ACC’s debate over its future football schedule veered suddenly Tuesday when athletic directors were presented a new option: the status quo. And the current model, eight league games with every team required to play at least one Power Five non-conference contest (8+1), likely will prevail as the athletic directors convene in Chapel Hill, N.C., Wednesday and Thursday for their annual fall meetings.
