It was 11:19 a.m. on a gray Wednesday in April, and Anson Dorrance, the UNC women’s soccer coach, who has won 21 national titles, had yet to arrive to Noon Ball — a thrice-weekly soccer scrimmage of Tar Heels coaches, former players and skilled locals that actually begins 45 minutes before noon to account for the daily practice of the men’s soccer team, at 2:30 p.m.
