Olympic dreams deferred

Two North Carolina legends offer advice to student-athletes whose Olympic hopes have been put on hold. In 1979, Sue Walsh swam the fastest 100-meter backstroke in the world, but her dreams were dashed when the U.S. boycotted the games. Women’s field hockey Head Coach Karen Shelton also was counting on a trip to the 1980 Olympics 1980.
