Chavis: 'Always a Tar Heel'
Posted Jul 19, 2006
Miguel Chavis made the decision he knew he wanted to make since receiving a scholarship offer from North Carolina early last spring – he verbally committed to the Tar Heels, the fifth pledge for UNC in four days. “I just got off the phone with Coach [John] Bunting 30 minutes ago, I committed to Carolina,” Chavis said. Chavis, a 6-foot-4 250-pound jumbo athlete from Fayetteville [N.C.] Sanford, also had offers from Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, but knew all along UNC was the best fit.
