Connor Barth getting his kick back

Under the guidance of Wes Herlocker, a UNC graduate assistant in strength and conditioning who punted at East Carolina, Connor Barth and his fellow kickers set out to strengthen the fast-twitch muscles in their legs through pool workouts and other exercises during the spring. More leg speed means more distance, something Barth and Wooldridge said they have coming into 2006. "I'm hitting the ball consistently from 60 yards on field goals now," Barth said.
