Absence Of Big Plays A Concern For Tar Heels

When North Carolina installed the West Coast offense during the offseason, hopes were high: Maybe the pass-happy scheme could generate big plays, bigger stats and plenty of excitement. Maybe not. Sure, the Tar Heels' new offense was efficient in its debut, gaining 403 yards in a season-opening 21-16 loss to Rutgers. But noticeably absent was any semblance of a deep threat that could stretch the defense and ease the congestion near the line of scrimmage.
