Tar Heels aware of Irish tradition

Friday, November 03, 2006

John Bunting doesn't remember all of the details from the football game he played at Notre Dame. But he'll never forget what his coach, Bill Dooley, said about the Fighting Irish leading up to that contest. "He talked all week long about how great Notre Dame was," said Bunting, UNC's head coach. "Then all of a sudden he breaks down a little bit, and he goes, 'Men, I'll just tell you this about Notre Dame: Just like we do, they put their pants on one leg at a time. It's just that their leg is a little bigger.'" (Durham Herald-Sun)
