Charges Filed Against Former UNC Coach Donnie Thompson

Donnie Thompson, an assistant football coach at East Carolina University, has been charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. Thompson, who coached defensive line at UNC for 12 years, was arrested by ECU police May 8. A warrant filed by ECU police said Thompson created and submitted fictitious receipts to be reimbursed for money that he claimed he spent while recruiting student athletes. The total amount of money involved was $11,373.70.
