Carolina searching for balance

South Florida managed to throw a 55-gallon drum of cold water on Carolina's debut of the Butch Davis era. Although the Tar Heels had been 1-2 when they traveled to Tampa to play the Bulls, UNC had played with so much passion, heart and excitement in the first three games that losing two games by a field goal or less had not significantly dampened anyone's enthusiasm.
