UNC, N.C. State land commitments from offensive players out of Georgia

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

North Carolina and N.C. State scored major commitments out of the Peach State over the weekend that could help both fulfill major recruiting needs. The Tar Heels reeled in 6-foot-5, 181-pound wide receiver Johnathan Howard from Wilcox County High in Rochelle, Ga., while the Wolfpack picked up running back Joshua Mercer of South Effingham High in Guyton. Wide receiver has become a focus in recruiting for UNC as it's made the transition this season to a no-huddle, spread offense. (Fayetteville Observer)
