At 27, Walt Bell has big role with Tar Heels, ACC

Walt Bell, who is in charge of UNC’s tight ends, is the youngest assistant coach in the ACC. Though the 27-year-old may be half the age of UNC secondary coach Dan Disch — and only five years older than Tar Heels tight end Nelson Hurst — Bell’s background has helped his position group transition to a new style of play after head coach Larry Fedora was hired in December.
