Observations from Kenan Stadium

If Dwight Jones narrowly misses Hakeem Nicks’ single-season school record for receiving yards, he may have one play in Saturday’s second quarter to blame. A 4-yard pass from Renner to Jones was ruled a run because the ball was thrown backward. That was about the only blemish on Jones’ day. He went flying by Nicks’ single-season record of 74 catches – he now has 79 on the season – and cleared the 2,000-yard mark for his career.
