A 2008 graduate of Raleigh's Leesville Road High School, Pete Mangum made his college choice based both on academics and the opportunity to possibly contribute on the football field. "I had a couple of places where I could have walked on, and I just felt most comfortable here. I know on top of the football part, they had a good academic school, and I could get what I wanted to get done here." (Tar Heel Blue)
