North Carolina holds off stubborn Rutgers, 24-22

QB Chas Dodd turned in a gutsy performance and the Rutgers defense forced five turnovers but it wasn't enough as North Carolina escaped with a 24-22 victory at Kenan Stadium. Dodd, who was sacked five times, completed 25 of 47 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns, but the failure of the offense to convert a first-and-goal from the 2-yard line in the first came back to haunt the Scarlet Knights.
