King Rice, the starting point guard on Dean Smith's 1991 North Carolina Final Four team, appears to be a leading candidate for the vacant Monmouth University men's basketball job. The current assistant coach at Vanderbilt confirmed his interest to the Asbury Park Press when reached on his cellphone Monday. (Asbury Park Press)
