Pitt drops Tar Heels with late FG in Meineke Car Care Bowl

It should’ve been the perfect situation for North Carolina and its talented defense. Even though the Tar Heels held a precarious one-point lead, only 9 1-2 minutes remained in Saturday’s Meineke Car Care Bowl and Pittsburgh was in the shadows of its own goal at the 5-yard-line. Instead, Pittsburgh ground out a 79-yard drive that resulted in a 19-17 Panthers’ victory over North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium. (Shelby Star)
