Butch Davis challenged his squad entering Thursday night’s showdown with Rutgers, and the Tar Heels responded by dismantling the Scarlet Knights, 44-12, in front of a national audience on ESPN. After a lackluster victory over McNeese State twelve days ago, the UNC coaching staff put their players through a grinding week of practice leading up to this game, and that hard work paid dividends in front of millions of viewers.
