Tar Heels Stumble into Offseason with Bowl Loss to South Carolina


South Carolina delivered a knockout punch early to North Carolina, building an insurmountable 18-0 lead in the first quarter and handing its border rival a 38-21 defeat in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Thursday. The Tar Heels finished the season with a 6-7 record. South Carolina, which arrived as a 12.5-point underdog, led by double digits before noon. (Inside Carolina)
