Former UNC two-way end was a two-time first-team All-American and a two-time first-team All-Southern Conference pick in 1939 and 1940. Defensive stats weren't kept when Severin played, but he would have racked up tackles at a rate like few UNC players before or after. That combined with his offensive prowess is why he ranks here.
