UNC Players give their meal money to Katrina relief effort
Posted Sep 14, 2005
North Carolina's football program has raised at least $10,300 to donate to relief funds for Gulf Coast residents affected by Hurricane Katrina. The players donated their $10 NCAA allowance for game-day meal money after last Saturday's season opener at Georgia Tech. Several players donated personal money, building the team total to about $3,500. Coach John Bunting told the players that he would match what they donated, and the assistant coaches donated about $3,300.
