Amato and Bunting refused this week to rehash last year's game. "It was great to beat N.C. State right here on our own turf," Bunting said. "But that was a long time ago." The loss was the beginning of the end for N.C. State, which had started 3-1 and had defeated eventual ACC champion Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. The Wolfpack lost five of its last seven; two other defeats were decided by seven points or fewer.
