Drama Fades for Tar Heels, Wolfpack

Last year, the Tar Heels needed a bit of good fortune to win. N.C. State piled up 577 yards of total offense - including 304 on the ground - and took a 16-13 lead on McLendon's 1-yard plunge late in the third quarter. The Wolfpack couldn't overcome three turnovers and a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter by Darian Durant, however. McLendon finished with 117 yards on the ground, and the loss was the first for N.C. State when he gained at least 100. (Lexington Dispatch)
