Drama Fades for Tar Heels, Wolfpack


Last year, the Tar Heels needed a bit of good fortune to win. N.C. State piled up 577 yards of total offense - including 304 on the ground - and took a 16-13 lead on McLendon's 1-yard plunge late in the third quarter. The Wolfpack couldn't overcome three turnovers and a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter by , however. McLendon finished with 117 yards on the ground, and the loss was the first for N.C. State when he gained at least 100. (Lexington Dispatch)
