Hard road leads to positive results for North Carolina's Tommy Davis
Wed Sep 28, 2005
When Tommy Davis was 5, his father was arrested and imprisoned for eight years on drug-related offenses. During the past five years he has been in and out of jail on more drug charges. With his dad absent, Tommy Davis learned life, like football, includes hard knocks. "Nothing is going to be handed to you,'' he said. "You've got to be able to take care of yourself." Davis can do that on -- and off -- the football field.
