Tar Heels squander halftime lead, fall to No. 6 Miami

The Miami defense entered Saturday's game ranked No. 1 in the country. But it surrendered 16 points to North Carolina before halftime, the most points it had allowed in a half all season. Ronnie McGill and Barrington Edwards had combined for 112 rushing yards in the first 30 minutes, and the UNC offense had essentially played mistake-free football. Then the Hurricanes' defense came to life. Miami held the Tar Heels scoreless after the intermission, boosting the 'Canes to a 34-16 win at the Orange Bowl on Saturday.
