UNC Baseball commit Walker Jenkins is the Tar Heels top player in the recruiting class but he’s also a top prospect for the 2023 MLB draft this summer. Right now, it looks like there’s no shot he will be on campus to play for UNC. South Brunswick senior baseball player Walker Jenkins, North Carolina's Gatorade Player of the Year, signed a letter of intent on Friday to attend the University of North Carolina. USC pitcher Matt Keating signs with New York Yankees instead of transferring to UNC

USC baseball won’t be losing one of its top players to the NCAA transfer portal as expected, but the Trojans also won’t be getting him back. Right-handed pitcher Matt Keating had committed to transfer to UNC. Instead, he’s heading to the professional ranks. UNC Baseball Lands Vanderbilt Transfer Pitcher Nelson Berkwich

The UNC baseball program landed a big-time transfer in former Vanderbilt left-handed pitcher , who announced his commitment to the Tar Heels on Friday. In two seasons at Vanderbilt, Berkwich posted a 3.03 ERA in 29.2 innings over 28 relief appearances. He logged a 1.96 ERA over five games in the Cape Cod League this summer. (Read More...)

UNC baseball commitment Brooks Brannon instead signs with Boston Red Sox after draft, turns pro

Two-time state champion Brooks Brannon has told HighSchoolOT that he has signed with the Boston Red Sox after being picked in the 9th round of the 2022 MLB Draft. Brannon's decision to sign means that he will not be enrolling at UNC and will head to the instructional league for the remainder of the year before going to his first spring training in 2023. UNC Baseball commit Brooks Brannon selected by Boston Red Sox in MLB Draft

After a record-setting senior season, Randleman's Brooks Brannon was selected in the MLB Draft. The UNC commit was picked by the Boston Red Sox in the ninth round Monday with the 279th overall selection. "I move up quickly and we win a ring in Boston." USC baseball transfer Matt Keating commits to North Carolina

Matt Keating has become the latest USC Trojans player to find a new home after entering the NCAA transfer portal. The two-way player, who was primarily used on the mound as the Trojans’ closer this season, announced on Friday that he is committing to the North Carolina Tar Heels, first thanking USC for the one year he spent with the Trojans. Cashing in on an All-State selection to go with his .413 batting average was a fitting end to a decorated career at Southington (Conn.) High School for outfielder .
