Lucas: Hoosier Dome Hysteria

No matter what happens on Saturday in Houston, it’s almost impossible that it could be any weirder than what occurred in Indianapolis 25 years ago today. The Tar Heels faced Kansas in the day’s first game. It was a senior-laden UNC team led by King Rice, Pete Chilcutt, and Rick Fox, who had gotten Dean Smith back to the Final Four for the first time since 1982.

REMEMBERING 2005: Sean May's hard work rewarded with title

It's said that May, now a Charlotte Bobcats rookie, needs to improve his perimeter defense and his jump shot to become a top-notch NBA power forward. Knowing his work ethic and character, I wouldn't bet against him. But even if he turns out more like Pete Chilcutt than James Worthy as a pro, the NCAA championship trophy the Tar Heels brought home from St. Louis stands as a permanent testament to May's dedication.
