Miller, a North Carolina junior projected by Baseball America to be the top pick in next month's Major League Baseball first-year player draft, was popping leather from the start with his mid-90s fastball Thursday night. He allowed two hits over eight innings and set a school record for career strikeouts as No. 5 UNC defeated Boston College 7-1. (Durham Herald-Sun)
