Tar Heels To Host First NCAA Baseball Regional Since 1983

On the strength of a school-record 45 regular season victories and the ACC Coastal Division title, UNC has been selected as one of 16 regional host sites for the 2006 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday. The Tar Heels, who will host a regional for the first time since 1983 and just the second time in program history, will find out who will join them next weekend at Boshamer Stadium when the 64-team field is announced on ESPN's "Road to Omaha" selection show at 12:30 p.m. Monday.
