North Carolina 14, Winthrop 2
Posted Jun 5, 2006
A two-run homer by Tim Federowicz and a two-run double by Chad Flack highlighted a six-run fourth inning that keyed the Tar Heels' win over Winthrop on Sunday and sent them on to the NCAA super regional. North Carolina scored 14 or more runs in all three of their regional victories. They will face either Alabama or Troy next weekend. Junior right-hander Daniel Bard pitched 6 2/3 strong innings Sunday as Carolina dominated from the outset.
