Speed matters for Cavasinni

Through it all, Mike Cavasinni has heeded the advice of his maternal grandfather, William King, who played for Springfield College in Massachusetts in the 1940s. Cavasinni's gift of speed offsets his lack of size and makes him a dangerous leadoff hitter for the Tar Heels, who play a best-of-3 super regional series at Alabama starting at 7 p.m. today for the right to go to the College World Series.
