Flack strikes twice to end Bama's season

Sunday, June 11, 2006

They say that lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice, but on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, it did. And it came from the bat of Chad Flack. The North Carolina first baseman gave his Tar Heels the lead with a three-run homer in the eighth inning, and after an improbable Tide comeback, Flack struck again with a two-run walk-off homer to give UNC an 8-7 win and secure a spot at the College World Series in Omaha.
