Forestview, UNC star Hovis passed over in pro draft

That's hard to believe considering Hovis led the ACC with a 1.72 ERA entering postseason play. He's improved his ERA each season at UNC, and his sidearm delivery has baffled hitters all season. The only drawback for Hovis? His statistics are great, but pro teams are often more interested in potential than performance. (Charlotte Observer)
