According to a GQ article, former Carolina star Jerry Stackhouse is credited as one of the first to adopt them full-time to keep his muscles warm and avoid injury. While a few UNC players mentioned the possibility of compression helping with injuries, none were terribly committed to that benefit and athletic trainer Doug Halverson set the record straight.
