Former UNC, NFL center Jason Brown donates 20 tons of sweet potatoes for UNC's ‘Yam Jam’

A former UNC and NFL player who traded one field for a thousand acres of another has gifted for his alma mater 40,000 pounds of sweet potatoes — for “Yam Jam.” Jason Brown had the 20 tons of root vegetables dumped on the front lawn of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Saturday morning to be bagged and donated to local food banks.
