UNC combo guard signee Coby White and Duke small forward commit Joey Baker faced off Thursday with White getting the better of the matchup as his Greenfield team beat Baker's Trinity Christian squad 78-72. White led the way with 37 points to Baker's 27.
Turner Walton writes that UNC should go with its traditional bigger lineup and let the freshman big men take their lumps while learning on the job.
Former UNC receiver and Dallas Cowboys rookie Ryan Switzer will receive the Patterson Medal, UNC's highest athletic honor, at halftime of the UNC-Duke basketball game next Thursday.
UNC offensive lineman Khaliel Rodgers wrote a heartfelt "thank you" letter in the Daily Tar Heel, describing his "truly amazing" experience in Chapel Hill after coming in as a graduate transfer from Southern Cal.

An interesting note on college basketball recruiting: There are no potential one-and-done freshmen on any of the current top 3 teams in college basketball (Villanova, Virginia, Purdue). In fact, teams centered around one-and-done players have only won two NCAA titles since the rule was implemented in 2006: Kentucky in 2012 and Duke in 2015.
