Oregon State made the big plays. North Carolina made the big blunders. That's why the Beavers are the NCAA baseball champions today. With the ACC's first College World Series win since Wake Forest in 1955 there for the taking, the Tar Heels fell, 3-2. The Beavers won it on a throwing error by reserve Carolina second baseman Bryan Steed to inexperienced first baseman Tim Federowicz, normally a catcher, in the bottom of the eight inning.
