Iona Prep's Moran to play baseball at North Carolina
Posted Jul 7, 2006
The plan appeared to be all mapped out. Brian Moran would head down south to mature and land at either a major Division I program or in the Major League Baseball draft after two years. In the meantime, the only variables were good health and a few hundred hours of hard work. Over the last couple weeks, however, Moran's path changed. The Iona Prep senior left-handed pitcher has shifted course and will enroll at the University of North Carolina, the runner-up in last month's College World Series, where he's been promised an opportunity to play baseball.
