The Jacksonville Daily News All-Area baseball team is led by Daily News Player of the Year Kendric Burney, a versatile senior who played many different positions for Southwest High. Burney, a first-team member last year, led the area in batting average, runs and home runs. The UNC signee – he will play baseball and football for the Tar Heels – also dominated on the mound, posting a 7-1 mark with an area-best 1.59 ERA.
