The $1 Billion Breakthrough: UNC Research Marks New Milestone

For the first time, UNC’s annual research expenditures have surpassed $1 billion, $632 million of which are sponsored by federal government agencies. The figures, reported via the nation’s annual Higher Education Research and Development survey, shows that Carolina ranks 11th nationally among all research institutions in overall research and development expenditures.
