Carla Williams officially named Virginia athletic director

After hiring Craig Littlepage, the Atlantic Coast Conference’s first African-American director of athletics, 16 years ago, Virginia has made Carla Williams the first African-American woman athletic director at a Power Five conference school. Williams, 49, has been in athletic administration at Georgia for the past 13 years, including the Bulldogs’ deputy director of athletics since 2015.
