Instead of UNC having a 1st-and-10 at the 22 with a little more than a minute to play, the penalty was missed by the officiating crew, effectively ending the game. Neither Peace nor Harris would confirm the face mask occurred. Not that it mattered. It was obvious to everyone watching aside from the referee, and ended up as yet another play that failed to fall UNC’s way. (Inside Carolina)
