Carolina's McGill runs to the beat

When he was a high school recruit in Clover, S.C., McGill received letters and posters from UNC's coaches reminding him that he could be the Heels' next 1,000-yard rusher, something they hadn't had in a while. McGill, a senior, thinks that time has come after two injury-marred seasons. It would go a long way toward lifting the Heels' fortunes in a season that kicks off Saturday against Rutgers.
