Extra Points: 'Fitting Plays' Explained

"Fitting plays" essentially refers to proper gap control on the part of defenders. The seven offensive players who position themselves on the line scrimmage create eight natural gaps. Each gap is identified. The gap between the center and guard is the "A gap," between the guard and tackle the "B gap," between the tackle and end the "C gap," and between the end and sideline the "D gap." (Tar Heel Blue)
