Oakland Athletics Agree to Sign No. 6 Overall Pick, UNC Commit Austin Beck


Just over a week after selecting him sixth overall in the MLB Draft, the Oakland Athletics announced Tuesday they have agreed to sign North Davidson High School outfielder Austin Beck. Beck–who previously committed to stay in-state and play college ball for coach Mike Fox at UNC–will receive a signing bonus of more than $5.3 million from Oakland to begin his pro career.
