Dave Odom thought he had Oregon and North Carolina set to meet in November. The two highest-ranked teams entering the Maui Invitational were on opposite sides of the bracket, but the Ducks lost 65-61 in their opener to Georgetown while North Carolina went on to beat Wisconsin in the title game.
