Why Tar Heels’ win over Chattanooga means more than you think

It’s easy to understand how North Carolina could have overlooked Chattanooga. With a trip to the Maui Invitational a week away and matchups against Indiana and Kentucky coming later in non-conference play, the Tar Heels will face no shortage of challenges before tipping off their ACC slate at the end of next month. Most mid-majors would seem like an afterthought.
